Rudy Giuliani Hospitalized in Critical but Stable Condition, Spokesman Says

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has been hospitalized and is currently in critical but stable condition, his spokesperson confirmed on Sunday.

The 81-year-old Republican was admitted to the hospital days after appearing on his online talk show with a noticeably hoarse voice, telling viewers he was “a little under the weather.” However, no specific details have been released بشأن the cause of his condition, how long he has been hospitalized, or his prognosis.

“Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he’s fighting with that same determination now,” spokesperson Ted Goodman said in a statement.

Giuliani served as mayor of New York City from 1994 to 2001 and gained national recognition for his leadership following the September 11 attacks, earning the nickname “America’s mayor.”

He later ran for president and became a key political ally and legal adviser to former President Donald Trump. Giuliani played a central role in supporting Trump’s claims of election fraud after the 2020 presidential election—claims that were repeatedly rejected in court.

In recent years, Giuliani has faced significant legal challenges. Two former election workers in Georgia won a $148 million defamation judgment against him, leading to court disputes over his assets. The case was eventually resolved through a settlement that allowed him to retain certain properties and personal belongings.

Giuliani has also dealt with health issues in the past. In September last year, he was hospitalized after suffering injuries, including a fractured vertebra, in a car accident in New Hampshire.

A longtime figure in American politics and law enforcement, Giuliani first rose to prominence as a federal prosecutor known for taking on organized crime and financial corruption cases before entering politics.

His current condition remains under close watch as more information is expected to be released in the coming days.
