Top 10 Most Expensive Yachts in the World

Most people spend their lives (and life savings!) working hard in order to buy themselves a comfortable, possibly stylish living space to call their own. This could range from a comfortable house in the suburbs, to a brownstone in town or a small apartment in the city. Some few, lucky people even manage to splash out on the ultimate marine boy-toy – a small boat, or even possibly a yacht. Only the very select few can afford to the kind of superyachts that make stately Beverly Hills mansions pale in comparison. We have scoped the top 10 most expensive yachts around. Here’s a sneak peak into living in the lap of luxury!

10. The Rising Sun

At the lowest spot on our top 10 is the impressive Rising Sun. Worth a whopping $200 Million, this superyacht was designed by Jon Bannenberg, and built in 2004 by Germany’s Lürssen for Oracle Corporation’s CEO Larry Ellison. The yacht has last been refitted in 2007 and was purchased by producer mogul David Geffen, in 2010. With a length of 453 feet, this is the eleventh largest yacht in the world. It boasts a living area spanning over 86,000 square feet and encompassing an impressive 82 rooms on five levels. The Rising Sun comes complete with a gym, spa, sauna, a wine cellar, a private cinema complete with giant plasma screen as well as a main-deck basketball which can also double up as a helipad. It can accommodate up to 16 guests and 45 crew members, while reaching a cruising speed of 26 knots.
