Daily Core News welcomes specific, evidence-based correction requests. When our reporting is wrong or materially incomplete, our goal is to correct the record clearly, promptly, and in proportion to the error.
How to request a correction
Use our Contact page, choose Correction, and include:
- The URL and headline of the article.
- The exact sentence, image, caption, or claim you believe is incorrect.
- A concise explanation of the issue.
- Reliable supporting evidence, preferably a primary document or on-the-record source.
- Your contact information so we can ask follow-up questions.
How we review a request
An editor reviews the published material, the original sourcing available to the newsroom, and the evidence supplied by the reader. We may contact the requester, author, source, or subject of the article when additional context is necessary. A request is not automatically accepted or rejected because it comes from a person named in the story.
Types of changes
Correction
A correction addresses a factual error that affects the accuracy or understanding of the article. Material corrections are accompanied by a note explaining what was wrong and what changed.
Clarification
A clarification may be added when the original statement was not factually wrong but could reasonably be misunderstood or lacked important context. The note explains the additional context.
Update
An update adds meaningful new information to a developing story. When the change is significant, the article should identify that it was updated and describe the new material. We do not change publication dates merely to make old coverage appear new.
Routine edit
Spelling, grammar, style, broken-link, and formatting fixes that do not change meaning may be made without a correction note.
Headlines, social posts, and images
If an error appears only in a headline, caption, thumbnail, alert, or social post, we correct that presentation as well as any related article language. A correction note may still be added when the error was material or widely distributed.
Removal and unpublishing requests
We do not normally remove accurate published work solely because it has become inconvenient. We consider removal, anonymization, or limited search visibility when there is a compelling legal, safety, privacy, or ethical reason. Each request is evaluated individually, with attention to the public record and potential ongoing harm.
What we do not change
We do not alter accurate coverage to improve a person's reputation, remove fair criticism, resolve a private dispute, or favor an advertiser or partner. Differences of opinion are not factual errors, although opinion and analysis should be labeled accurately.
Response timing
We aim to acknowledge well-documented requests within three business days. Complex reviews may take longer, especially when records or additional sources are required. Urgent safety or legal concerns should be identified clearly in the subject of the message.
